It contains an enzyme called papain and this buttery fruit also contains high amount of vitamin A and anti-oxidant that can help to rejuvenate your skin by removing your dead skin cells and also protein that is no longer active. It also can keep your skin glowing and hydrated and since it is natural based product, so it can decrease the risk of damage on your skin compared to other chemical based skin whitening products.
To have the brighter skin you have always wanted, you can try eating raw ripe papaya, drink its fresh juice and also try to add green papaya on your salad or curry. Other than that, you can also try below a couple recipes of home remedies to make papaya mask or soap that you can apply directly on your skin. However, it is always good to check whether you have any allergic reaction by applying small amount of papaya mask or lotion on your hand patch it with band aid and see for the next couple of hours if you have any rash that can be a sign of allergic reaction to it. It is always recommended to discontinue the use of the soap or the mask should you find any rash on your skin afterwards.
1.Homemade Papaya Soap
Fresh ripe papaya that contains papain is widely known for its ability to break down some types of proteins in your skin. Hence it is also useful as exfoliator on your skin that can make your skin looks brighter and smoother.
You will need fresh papaya cut into smaller pieces and blend them into smooth paste.
Soap based that can be melted and pour about 4 cubes of it to double boiler or you can also microwave it for 20 seconds.
Mix the papaya smooth paste and the melted soap based altogether. You can also add honey to make it more fragrant as well as add more benefit that is good for your skin.
Pour the mixture into soap moulds and set aside for about 3-4 hours before using it daily.
2.Homemade Papaya Leaf Mask
Not only the flesh, but you can also grind papaya leaf and put it into juicer to extract the juice. Make sure the papaya leaf are cleanly washed and dried before you grind it. You can also boil the papaya leaf in a sauce pan and simmer it without lid before grinding.
If you boil the papaya leaf, you can drain the liquid and keep it in glass container and store it in refrigerator. However, it is always better to use the freshly juiced papaya leaf. Once you have grinded the papaya leaf and put them in a juicer apply the juice straight away to your skin and leave it until it is dry completely.
Wash your skin with warm water and followed with cold water afterwards.
However, studies have shown that pregnant women are not suggested to use papaya leaf mask as it might induce abortion.
3.Homemade Green Papaya Mask
Other than papain, green papaya also contains Alpha Hydroxyl Acids that can get rid of your dead skin cells. It is also can lighten the pigmentation on your skin that can create a good natural based skin whitening mask even for those with sensitive skin.
You will need 1 unripe papaya finely diced. You can also combine with honey and yoghurt for a better result. As always, make sure you wash the green papaya before cutting it. You don’t want to use the seeds nor the skin for this mask.
Put the diced green papaya into your blender and add some water to help it blends. Add more water until the green papaya turns into a smooth paste that you can apply on your skin without dripping all over.
Apply thoroughly on your clean face or only to the spots with blemish or dark circles. Leave it to dry for about 20 to 30 minutes before washing it with warm water followed with cold water afterwards. Dry your face with towel.
You can always combine papaya with other ingredient based on your skin type. Such as green tea that is good in removing dark spots and can brighten your skin. Just swap the use of water to green tea when making papaya mask and you can get double benefits from these two ingredients.
Combination of papaya and fuller’s earth can brighten your skin as well as absorb the excess oil that can cause pimples and breakouts. All you need to do is mix the papaya pulp juice with the fullers earth with 2:1 ratio and apply the mask on your face.
Tomato can also enhance the work of papain from papaya to make your skin looks lighter and more glowing. Oatmeal and almond oil can also exfoliate the skin so it can make your skin white and supple.
To achieve maximal result, try to use this mask once every two or three day and combined with healthy diet as well as the use of sun screen before leaving the house so that a bright and white skin is no longer a dream for you.
